Organzied by pianist, Chopin expert and Frost School of Music professor Kevin Kenner, the Frost School of Music and the U.S. Chopin Foundation are partnering to establish the 1st Frost Chopin Festival and Academy. The Academy is being held at the University of Miami's Coral Gables campus from June 25th to June 30th.

WLRN, Miami-Dade county public radio, published one of my portraits of Kevin Kenner on their website as part of a story about the Chopin Festival.

The session this particular image came from was a particularly fun and productive shot for a Frost School profile of Kevin. We shot in two locations and had a couple of students present to show some interesting interactions. The second location was the Clark Performance Hall at the Frost School of Music. During the shoot we were treated to an amazing performaing various bits of Chopin by both the students and Kevin as I shot around the piano.

Festival Miami Salutes Dizzy’s Latin Side - Downbeat magazine by Shawn Clark

Downbeat magazine featured several of my images from Festival Miami last year [01.26.2017]. While the story is a little dated, I came across it while searching for some more recent images that I expect to be published soon. This particular show - a tribute to Dizzy Gillespie - featured two musicians that played with Dizzy over the years: John Faddis on trumpet and Jimmy Heath on tenor saxophone.  The equation for great pictures starts with great performers. John Faddis and Jimmy Heath were amazing.... Downbeat magazine
